Testing AC and DC Fast Chargers

A wide range of EV chargers are being developed from residential AC chargers to public AC semi-fast and DC fast chargers. DC fast charging infrastructure operates at higher voltage levels to accommodate faster charge times and larger electric vehicle batteries. Pacific Power Source’s bi-directional AC grid simulator has a wide operating envelope to emulate a broad range of power levels and EV chargers.

Testing the Utility Grid & V2G

Test the impacts of electric vehicles on the utility grid and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies. Simulating bidirectional power flows to and from the grid substantially speeds up test time and reduces energy costs.
Our 2-in-1 Regenerative Grid Simulators are used to simulate the utility grid and the optional AC/DC load capability can be used to simulate inductive, capacitive or resistive load. This 2-in-1 test solution is ideal for testing to IEEE 1547, UL 1741, and similar grid-tied standards around the globe.

Testing EVSE & On-Board Chargers

Pacific Power Source provides AC/DC power sources and electronic loads for testing EV components such as EV on-board chargers (OBC) and other Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). Our AC loads can simulate linear, non-linear, inductive, capacitive or resistive loads. The RLS Regenerative Load Simulator and the ELZ High Power Regenerative Load Simulator has several AC and DC emulation modes.
